On Monday, 22 August 2016, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kaunas, on Marijampolės pl., at the junction with Mėnulio street, a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Primera and a Honda Civic 5DR. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Nissan (40 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
