On Sunday, 28 August 2016, in the evening at 19:55, in Šilutės district municipality, on Šilo street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Twingo and a Toyota RAV4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Renault (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
