On Wednesday, 31 August 2016, in the morning at 10:44, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 20.17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Iveco (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
