On Saturday, 3 September 2016, in the morning at around 7:00, in Kaunas, on Baltų pr., at the junction with J. Grušo street, a Volvo V70 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volvo (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.68‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
