On Saturday, 3 September 2016, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Laižuvos street near No. 15, a BMW 530 D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.71‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
