On Sunday, 4 September 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, Bijūnų village, on J. Lukšos street, at the junction with Mikalinavos street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touran, a BMW, an Audi A6 and a Ford Galaxy. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient) and the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (13 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
