On Sunday, 11 September 2016, at night at 0:47, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 61.85), a BMW ran off the road. One person was injured — a 20-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
