On Sunday, 11 September 2016, at night at around 2:00, in Kupiškio district municipality, Skverbų village, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 77.35), a Citroen C5 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Citroen (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
