On Sunday, 2 October 2016, in the afternoon at 13:35, in Anykščių district municipality, on Taikos street, at the junction with V.Kudirkos street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC90, a trailer ≤ 0.75 t, a Volkswagen Passat and a Mazda Premacy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volvo (14 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober. The 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
