On Saturday, 8 October 2016, in the afternoon at 12:20, in Kaunas, on A. Juozapavičiaus pr. near No. 31, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Golf. Three people were injured — the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient), a 37-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient) and a 10-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Golf (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.46‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
