On Sunday, 9 October 2016, in the afternoon at 15:29, in Šiauliai, on Serbentų street near No. 92, a Lexus IS 200 ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Lexus (hospitalized) and a 29-year-old passenger of the Lexus (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Lexus, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.58‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 29-year-old passenger of the Lexus was drunk (1.30‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
