On Saturday, 15 October 2016, in the evening at 22:12, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Pašalčiai–Naujadvaris regional road (kilometre 11.60), a Peugeot 406 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Peugeot (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
