On Wednesday, 12 October 2016, in the evening at 20:04, in Kupiškio district municipality, on Gedimino street, an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.05‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
