On Friday, 21 October 2016, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Vytauto Didžiojo tiltas street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xsara and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Citroen, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
