On Wednesday, 26 October 2016, at night at 0:01, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Polockas national road (kilometre 32.08), a Mercedes-Benz E250 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 51-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). One person was injured — the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 51-year-old pedestrian, who was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. The driver was sober.
