On Thursday, 3 November 2016, in the afternoon at 12:12, in Vilnius, on S. Žukausko street, at the junction with J. Kubiliaus street, a Volvo XC70 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 87-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volvo (6 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
