On Saturday, 5 November 2016, in the evening at 17:17, in Šiauliai, on Pramonės street near No. 15, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S80, an Audi A4, a Volkswagen Passat and a Nissan Primera. Four people were injured — the 27-year-old driver of the Volvo (hospitalized), a 58-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient), the 58-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 30-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.65‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 30-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk (2.38‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
