On Saturday, 5 November 2016, in the evening at 17:17, in Šiauliai, on Pramonės street near No. 15, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.65‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 30-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk (2.38‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
