On Sunday, 6 November 2016, in the evening at 20:40, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 31), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Honda Civic, an Opel Vectra and an Audi 100 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Honda (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
