On Thursday, 17 November 2016, in the afternoon at 15:24, in Kaunas, on Veiverių street near No. 112, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and an Audi A8. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who violated overtaking rules and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
