On Thursday, 1 December 2016, in the evening at around 17:00, in Utenos district municipality, on Kauno street near No. 5, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Ebro and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Nissan (49 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
