On Tuesday, 6 December 2016, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Kaunas, on A. Mackevičiaus street near No. 14, at the junction with Telšių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318 and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
