On Thursday, 8 December 2016, at night at 1:08, in Kaunas, on Šv. Gertrūdos street near No. 10, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Toyota Verso. One person was injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
