On Thursday, 8 December 2016, in the morning at around 8:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on Žemaitės street, at the junction with Vasario 16-osios street, a Renault Megane Scenic hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Renault (42 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
