Renault Megane Scenic hits a pedestrian at a crossing on Žemaitės g., Gargždai
On Thursday, 8 December 2016, in the morning at around 8:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on Žemaitės street, at the junction with Vasario 16-osios street, a Renault Megane Scenic hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Renault (42 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
