On Tuesday, 13 December 2016, in the evening at 18:35, in Kaunas, on Sukilėlių pr. near No. 17, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caravelle and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered.
