On Thursday, 15 December 2016, in the afternoon at 11:20, in Rokiškio district municipality, on Respublikos street, at the junction with Perkūno street, an Audi 80 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 86-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 80-year-old driver of the Audi (44 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober.
