On Thursday, 15 December 2016, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on J. Pabrėžos street, at the junction with Vaškų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Seat Altea and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Seat (17 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
