On Saturday, 17 December 2016, in the afternoon at 16:51, in Vilniaus district municipality, Užubalių village, on Senasis Ukmergės kel., at the junction with Užubalių street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.24‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
