On Sunday, 25 December 2016, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Raudondvario pl. near No. 194, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.59‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
