Drunk Volkswagen driver hits an obstacle on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Monday, 26 December 2016, at night at 4:35, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 107.50), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.08‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
