On Tuesday, 27 December 2016, in the evening at 18:20, in Vilnius, on V. Šopeno street, at the junction with Sodų street, a Volvo 7700 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 23-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Volvo (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
