On Saturday, 31 December 2016, at night at 23:50, in Vilnius, on Pilaitės pr., at the junction with Senosios Pilaitės kel., an Opel Signum hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Opel (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.70‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
