On Wednesday, 11 January 2017, in the evening at 19:22, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street near No. 79C, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant registered in Great Britain and a BMW 318. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
