On Sunday, 15 January 2017, in the evening at 17:50, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 102.35), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a vehicle, a Volvo FH12 registered in Russia and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene.
