On Monday, 30 January 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Kęstučio street, at the junction with A. Mickevičiaus street, a Honda CR-V hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 9-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Honda (16 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
