On Saturday, 4 February 2017, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Marijampolės municipality, Aleksandravo village, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 58.70), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (24 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.35‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 10 km/h.
