On Saturday, 4 February 2017, in the evening at 20:40, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Turistų street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra-G-CC and a Volkswagen Caddy. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
