On Monday, 6 February 2017, in the evening at 20:46, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 15.90), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a Seat Alhambra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (3.42‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
