The accident was caused by a 27-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway outside a crossing where there are vehicle or pedestrian barriers. He was drunk (1.22‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. A 24-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.51‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
