On Sunday, 26 February 2017, in the evening at 19:30, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 36.60), a BMW hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a pedestrian. The accident was caused by a pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
