On Thursday, 2 March 2017, in the evening at 19:23, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street near No. 20, a Ford Mondeo hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and failed to obey traffic-control signals. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
