On Friday, 3 March 2017, at night at 0:16, in Kaunas, on R. Kalantos street near No. 131, an Audi 80 Avant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 49-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 50-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 49-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.77‰). A 50-year-old pedestrian was drunk (1.43‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
