On Wednesday, 15 March 2017, in the afternoon at 13:57, in Šalčininkų district municipality, Viškūnų village, on the Pirčiupiai–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 25), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
