On Saturday, 25 March 2017, in the morning at 9:57, in Anykščių district municipality, on A. Baranausko a. near No. 1, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Polo and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
