On Thursday, 6 April 2017, in the morning at 10:30, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 27), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Caddy and a Mercedes-Benz Vito 115 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (22 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
