On Thursday, 6 April 2017, at night at 23:10, in Kauno district municipality, on the Garliava–Jonučiai–Karkazai regional road (kilometre 2.20), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and an Audi A6. Three people were injured — a 21-year-old passenger of the BMW (severely injured, hospitalized), a 21-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient) and the 20-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
