On Wednesday, 26 April 2017, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on P. Lukšio street, at the junction with P. Plechavičiaus street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 306 and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
