On Sunday, 30 April 2017, in the evening at 18:21, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Vaisodžiai–Raižiai–Butrimonys regional road (kilometre 9.15), a Rover 220 ran off the road. One person was injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the Rover (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Rover, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.18‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
