On Monday, 1 May 2017, in the evening at 20:20, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 5), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 100 and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.44‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
