On Thursday, 4 May 2017, in the afternoon at 11:27, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on Gedimino street near No. 105, a Volvo V70 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 81-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Volvo (19 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She was drunk (1.15‰ blood alcohol).
